The Final Six Weeks

Heyyyy Howdyyyy Heyyy :)

If y'all didn't catch the subject line well you better look again because it is THE final countdown, THE final transfer, THE last hoorah. It is beyond crazy to me how fast time is going right now. The days and weeks just seem to fly right on by me whether I want them to or not.

I am the first one to tell you that the last part of your mission is by far the hardest part. Where you experience the most home sicknesses, disobedience, and lack of motivation then any other part of your mission. And not gonna lie I have had issues with all three in the last month and I have been kind of waiting to find someone or something to kick me into gear and this past week may have done just that.

This past week was the first week that President and Sister Varner took on the mission themselves and not gonna lie, it's not that I didn't like them or that I didn't think they were going to do a good job but I just am sooo close with the Hansen's that I really didn't think getting a new mission president would do anything for me besides keep me tamed for the rest of my mission, which is very accurate and needed.

But boyyyyy did they prove me wrong. Easily one of the greatest and most spiritual meetings that I have ever been apart of. The Varner's are soooo beyond inspired by God and are exactly what the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission needs at this time. A little inside on Pres. Varner if y'all didn't know he was a BYU football player and is veryyy intense. The whole time during this meeting I felt like I was back in the glory days of Bear River Basketball where the Legendary Coach Park was giving us motivational speeches to pump us up and get us motivated to give the game our all.

President Varner is all about being a team and a family. When one is struggling, we all are struggling. When one has success, we are all having success. It made me think a lot back to basketball and how much it really does tie into missionary work. We are all on the same team, with the same purpose and goal in mind. I remember no greater feeling then after a hard practice or a great win when you would wake up sore but feeling like a million bucks all at the same time. The same goes with missionary work. I realized that if I want to make the last part of my mission great I have to leave it all out on the court, give it all that I got, have no regrets, and look nothing but forward.

I am excited for these next weeks and to give my Heavenly Father my all in the last few minutes of the fourth quarter. I know that you only fail when you stop trying and in this mission we don't fail so I am not about to stop trying.

Have the best week y'all :) I love y'all soooo much!!
