I survived my first tropical storm Cindy this past week and no it wasn't as exciting or cool as everyone said it was gonna be. No flash flooding, nothing flying around, to say I was prettyyyy bummed is for sure an understatement! Maybe next time right??;) But it did rain a lot so it was a pretty slow week here!
If any of y'all know me you know I am not a reader and cannot sit still and focus for more then ten minutes so studying on my mission has been kinda really hard for me! I just wanna talk or doodle or do anything except focus even though I know how important it is!! Soooo after 16 months I have FINALLY bunkered down and finished the Book of Mormon cover to cover for the first time on my mission. Maybe a little pathetic? Most definitely. But was it worth it?? No doubt!!
I can't even begin to describe to you how much my testimony has increased in the gospel and in my Savior Jesus Christ after reading the Book of Mormon. I have grown a deeper love and appreciation for this book more then ever before. I know it without a shadow of a doubt to be true. I know that whoever reads it with that open heart and a contrite spirit WILL gain the same witness for themselves. The gospel is so black and white. It is either true or it's not true. And how I came to know and others as well, is through the Book of Mormon and the spirit felt while reading those sacred pages.
But what I love most is the opportunity I have to share this book with the people of Louisiana and those that I love most. So my challenge is to each and EVERY single one of you to read the Book of Mormon every single day for the next month and pay attention to the difference that it makes in your life, your homes, and your testimonies. I know that it will make all the difference in your life that you need because I know it has done the same for me.
