Seven Days of Rain

Hello to all of my family and friends:) hope you have had another great week! It has been a pretty rainy all week. And when I say pretty rainy I mean buckets of rain pouring from the sky seven days a week for a majority of the day. I am probably going to have to grow some gills if I want to survive here:) Since it was so rainy we didn't tract very much but we still got in some really awesome lessons!

We have been teaching a lady named Dana and her fifteen year old daughter Nikki for a couple months now and I have always just seen a lot of potential in them. They have had a really rough life and have some crazy stories that just amaze me. But they REALLY like to talk and so sometimes its hard to get two words in let alone a lesson because if there is one thing I have learned about the South it is that you do not by any circumstance interrupt these people! So almost three months later we have FINALLY gotten through the Plan of Salvation!

But it just so happened to be one of the best lessons that I have ever had as a missionary. Totally spirit led so those are always the greatest! But Dana has dyslexia and has a hard time reading the Book of Mormon and fully understanding it. So we had the idea to just open to a random page of the Book of Mormon and told her to listen to more to what she was feeling while we read more then the words itself. We just let the book fall open and there you have it.. Mosiah 18 which talks about the Waters of Mormon and how the desires of their hearts were changed and how over 200 people were baptized... HOLY!! The spirit was sooo strong and we just kinda all sat there for a second. We invited them to be baptized and there was a long pause... Nikki expressed how she missed going to church and she thinks that they have found the right one!  I literally just about jumped off the couch because of my excitement! We still have a ways to go and have a lot to teach them but that desire that they have to come unto Christ and be apart of His fold is probably one of the greatest things I have ever felt.

It's my favorite part of being a missionary. Seeing that desire, that change in people when they recognize the spirit in their lives and want to do something about it. It has done so much good for me and has made me see things in life a lot differently so that I can continue to have that same spirit for the rest of my life. It really is the most amazing thing in the world to witness first hand.

I love y'all so much and pray for you always! Thank you for all your love and support, it is definitely felt and definitely needed! Have the best week and pray for blue skies and sunshine coming my way:)
