We've had a pretty good week in Covy and had a really awesome experience! My first transfer we had three young black girls we were teaching and they even had a baptismal date planned! During all the craziness in the flood we had no time to go visit them and ended up loosing contact with them and could never catch them at home! We were super bummed and felt way bad about it but me and Sister D decided to try them this week! We pull up and Olivia and Janala are outside on the porch! MIRACLE! We were kind of nervous because we didn't know how they would react but they were so excited to see us! MIRACLE! They explained how they all got new numbers and didn't know how to get a hold of us and were really bummed when we weren't coming around AND that they were still very much so interested! MIRACLE! I almost cried on their front porch because of how blessed we were to come back in contact with them so I am super excited to teach them more and see where it all goes:)
We also came back in contact with this super awesome lady named Joselyn! The first time we met her she was in a hospital bed and was really sick! We had tried her multiple times after and never could get back in touch with her! But we tried her again this week and she yelled for us to come in! We walk in and she seemed to be missing her legs.. I mean you think I would have remembered this the first time we met her so I was really concerned! Turns out she had to have both of her legs amputated due to gangrene and just barely was able to make it back home! We taught her the Restoration and she seemed really interested and was eager to start reading the Book of Mormon so we are excited to see where that goes! She is a sweetheart and was really proud of her cute little nubs!
But this week has been awesome and I am so happy to be here in Covington with such amazing people everyday! There is no better feeling then being a missionary!! I love y'all so much and am grateful to be supported by so many amazing people!! have the best week!!
When you have a bad day it calls for a whole apple pie:)
