Soooo introducing Sister Davis from American Fork Utah!! We came out together and there seriously are many moments in the day where we just stare at each other and have no idea what we are doing but it is all about learning and growing right? So it will definitely be a great transfer and I am super excited! I really feel like I know the area well and that we have a lot of potential here as well so I have no doubts that this will be a growing experience and amazing transfer!
We have broke her right into Covington with more termites and yet another tornado watch! I have just come to the fact that the bugs are my roommates now and that we just have to embrace it.. And of course we have to have another tornado watch but this time is just so happened to be at 11:30 at night! I have never seen so much lightening in my whole life and had the house literally shake due to all the thunder. So knowing me I did not handle this very well (my fear of anything not normal) and luckily had an awesome mission president talking to me over the phone and trying to get me to calm down. Bless his soul for having to deal with me and all of my craziness! But we did get one of the funniest quotes of all time from him that night "Sister Steve... Let's put on those bike helmets and let's calm down okay?" I guess you have to know President Hansen but us missionaries have been laughing for days over that one!
Cool little story for the week.. I think I have told y'all before but we have A LOT of inactive members! A couple weeks ago we were supposed to have dinner with a less active old lady but the rain was bad and we were out on lock down and so we had to cancel! We had been meaning to go back but life here has been pretty crazy and she kinda lives in the boonies! But we decided that we needed to go see her and it ended up being the highlight of my week! We pull up and there is four teenagers out front and the cutest little old lady taking care of her chickens! She came straight to us and just starting hugging us and letting us know how happy she was to see us!
We go inside and have a little visit and turns out one of her grand kids isn't baptized and was more then willing to start taking the lessons from us as long as her step dad lets her! It was such a cool experience and were truly inspired to go there! She told us she woke up this morning and told her grand kids that the sisters were coming by today so she knew it was going to be a good day:) old people are my favorite... And she could possibly be my new favorite!
Its those little things out here like this that make me love it that much more and know that there is a reason that I am in Louisiana! I hope y'all have such a great week and know that I could never thank you enough for all y'all have done for me!! Sending all my love to every one of you!! xoxoxo
