This week was pretty good, full of meetings, rain, exchanges, and lots of good stuff in between! But one experience just really hit me hard and made me realize how amazing this work truly is.
So referrals are a missionaries best friend. A new investigator practically handed to you and all you have to do is contact the person and go from there! But this referral was golden beyond golden! Sister Missionaries from the St. Louis Missouri Mission are currently teaching a family of four who are ALL getting baptized, pretty cool right?? The only catch to that was they really wanted their grandma (who is moving in with them) there and to support and accept them and the change of lifestyle they are about to take on. Well it was just our luck that their sweet grandma, Miss Tina, just so happens to be in our area!
Miss Tina is truly one of the nicest Southern Baptists I have ever met. She let us right in and she acted like we were her own and was really interested and excited to be able to learn about what her kids and grand kids are learning about. Naturally we started off with the Restoration, but it wasn't like any other first lesson I have ever had before. She sat there listening so intently with tears in her eyes, listening to every word we said and actually caring and wanting to know for herself whether or not this is true. The Spirit was sooo strong. So strong that not a one of us was able to walk out of there with dry eyes.
It has been a good minute since I have been able to feel the Spirit like that before. Since I have been able to literally feel God's love for me and those around me. It made me remember why I am here and what I was called to do. Miss Tina may be moving here shortly this month, but there is no doubt in my mind that someday she will be able to know for herself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church here upon the earth, and that the Book of Mormon is that second witness of Jesus Christ that will lead her to eternal happiness in the life ahead of her. It gives me so much hope, and so much happiness to know God has people prepared just like Miss Tina all around us and what an amazing opportunity I have to be part of finding those that are ready and willing to know of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I love y'all so much and couldn't do this without you:) I hope you have the best week and a Happy Mother's Day!!
