So I decided this week that I should have been called to Mexico for two reasons.. 1. Mexican food is my new jam and 2. Because we met THE coolest people this week that are beyond golden but the language barrier is kind of an issue!!
Last week at church a couple traveling through Louisiana brought their younger brother Evar to church and kinda just handed a new investigator over to us! Am I complaining? Not at all. They are here from Panama studying English and will be here until the middle of July. When we went to go meet with him a couple of his friends were there as well and we realized the language barrier was a little worse then we thought but we asked them if they would like to come to church on Sunday and then we would have the Spanish Elders take it from there. We asked them how many of them would be coming and they say five.. FIVE?!?! What?!?! So to say we were pumped would be an understatement!!
Church was a HUGE success for them!! The Spanish Elders brought some Spanish members and they translated for them all day long. It was so cool, I thought they were gonna think it was a little too much but after church when we asked them how they liked it they were freaking out and saying how much they loved it.. Wait is this real life?? Curse my non-Spanish speaking skills!!!
It may be our second golden investigator that we have had to pass on in the last month and not gonna lie that really is hard. But at the same time it's been a really cool experience to be able to give us that hope that there are so many Evars, and Tinas out there that God is preparing us to find! It is comforting to know that the Gospel is true everywhere you hear it and whatever language it is received, it is true. I know it without a shadow of a doubt. I see it every day, I feel it every time I teach, and I know this is where I need to be.
We made a little pit stop at Bass Pro Shops before we went on exchanges, it's sad when I had to teach Steele how to hold a gun, out of alllll people it should not be me!!
Look what I found!! Remember my nice hood ornament that Kade stole for me? well I found his twin!
Good 'ol Brother Frank with his fly southern style! He was baptized a little over eight months ago and sings southern baptist songs allll the time. He is legit!
Panda Express.. Gettin down to the nitty griddy!!
Seeing my mama for one of the last times... 9 days and she is real human:(
The greatest friends this mission has to offer
We made Costa Vida for lunch this week. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!
