Back At It

Hey y'all! I hope you have all had an amazing week:) it sure has been great down here in Louisiana!! It was transfers this past week and so Tuesday is our pday but it looks like me and Sister Belnap are staying put here!

This past week we were able to do transfers with the Sister Training Leaders and it was seriously the greatest! I was able to go with Sister Toner who is a three year convert from California! She is simply amazing and totally blew me away! She has a huge testimony of missionary work obviously and just such a good missionary! We were a lot alike and it just was so fun to be able to get to know different sisters and serve with different people! We had a lot of success and I learned so much! It was an awesome experience and I just love Sister Toner!

We still did quite a bit of service this week and met a lot of new and really amazing people! People still are just so amazing and I kind of wish this kind of service would never end because of how great it makes you feel! We were able to go and see Norma and help her pack because she is moving to a nursing home.. I was so sad but I couldn't help but just be so grateful for the opportunities I'm having that are allowing me to meet so much amazing people! Another one of the flood victims named Angela is moving into the Windsor this week too and I was so excited we will still be able to see her!

The Windsor had us come and do some service this week and of course it was a crawfish boil.. Crawfish boils are a big deal down here and everyone just eats literally all day long! Since I don't eat anything that comes out of the ocean I had a hamburger so I have not changed too much when it comes to food:) I am sure you are all shaking your heads in disgust that I didn't at least try but I did peal one so that counts for something right? It was so fun and the residents loved it so it was a huge success!

General Conference.. I wish we had it every week lets be honest here!! It was so amazing and really just was an answer to all of my prayers really! Every talk I was able to find something for me or for my investigators and I just was able to get so much out of it!  We were able to watch it with one of my favorite families in the ward, the Ory's, and it was an awesome experience!

We were also able to watch it with one of our investigators named Shelby. She is college student and was writing a paper about the LDS religion and asked if we could help and so we decided to go watch conference with her! She really enjoyed it but asked a question that like struck me! She asked us (nicely) "You guys act like you love these people so much and you don't even know them why is that?" I kind of had to think to myself for a minute why do I love President Monson and his apostles so much? It dawned on me that they are truly the closest thing that we have to the Savior on this earth today. They are acting in the way and telling us the things that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ would do and say. How can we not love them? How can we not sustain them? They are inspired and truly amazing individuals who center their whole life around leading this church in the path of righteousness.

I am so very grateful for President Thomas S. Monson and for all that he is and continues to do for our church. They are all truly inspiring and I know that what they have shared with us this past week was meant for each one of us personally! It was for me that is for sure!! I hope that y'all could find something in conference that speaks to you:) Hope y'all have the best week ever and know I love each and everyone of you!!
