Excitement Can't Be Contained

Helloooo from Louisiana!!:) the humidity is starting to pick up and I am getting a small taste of what the summer is going to be down here! Its not the greatest thing in the world I am not going to lie!

Since we practically live in the woods we got a little surprise this week! A baby raccoon was sitting in the middle of our driveway and Sister Belnap being the animal lover that she is couldn't leave it out there! Myself on the other hand was not too happy about this because raccoons are little demons! So we had a raccoon for a day but ended up giving it to one of our ward members to raise and so Sister Belnap can keep visiting it. I am soooo happy about that.

We have had a pretty good week here in Covington, a really good one actually!! The week started out super slow and seriously no one was home for some reason! Our lessons were pretty slim and weren't really anything amazing or going anywhere! A less active is moving and wanted us to come and say bye to her before she left and we met her neighbor Brandi! Brandi.. She is amazing! She is your typical Southern woman! She loves iced tea, anything dealing with food, and always has a lot to say! She was really friendly with us and had a ton of questions! We ended up inviting her to our ward craw fish boil the next day!

The craw fish boil ended up being a huge success for us as missionaries! We were able to get five investigators there and they really enjoyed it and saw that Mormons are somewhat normal too:) Brandi ended up coming and brought her kids with her and they all made friends and really loved it! She was so excited to come to church the next day! This seriously never happens!! Sister Belnap and I just sat there and stared at each other when she asked for a Book of Mormon and asked to take a church tour! The spirit was so strong when we showed her around the church and she could definitely feel it! It was so cool for us to see because like I said this doesn't happen very often and the spirit was just so overwhelming that you couldn't deny it.

Church comes around the next day and here comes Brandi and she brought her whole family!! We ended up having seven investigators total at church and it was so awesome but probably the most stressful thing of my whole entire life!! I was seriously sweating bullets and had to go shower after church since I was such a mess!! Luckily Sister Belnap was able to hold herself together though and everyone had a really good time at church! Brandi and the whole family felt the spirit and they knew they did too! All of the kids have always had a hard time fitting in but they all really seemed to fit in well with the rest of the kids. The coolest experience was that Brandi stood up and bore her testimony in Relief Society thanking everyone for their kindness and that she finally felt like she belonged and that she was home. Her family has started to read the Book of Mormon daily together and its been what four days? Talk about amazing!!

I could help but sit back and cry because of how truly blessed I am to be able to find and teach so many amazing people. The mission has already done so much for me along with making me the most emotional person to ever walk to planet!  It truly is amazing to see how the  gospel can bless others lives and how much it has blessed mine! I'm so grateful to be on the Lord's errand and finding these amazing people who want and deserve the gospel!
