Count Your Blessings

This week has been pretty busy and have never stopped serving! We have met so many amazing people and have been able to help them in any way that we can! We had to kind of put our investigators and missionary life on the side for a bit this week but have had some pretty amazing experiences!
The flooding ended up doing a lot more damage then what we had thought! Many people were in four feet or more of water so you can just imagine how bad their houses were when the water finally cleared out! You can just drive down the street and there are mountains and mountains of everything from flooring to special belongings. It was one of the saddest things I really have ever seen! It was so hard for us to see these people go through this because we know many of them and have grown to love them!
When we would go out and help each family they would always tell us that they were going to be emotional and to just be really careful what you say and so forth, but these people were so positive and were so upbeat about everything! They all would talk about how everything happens for a reason and that God had a hand in all things! It was so cool for us to see because here these people had lost just about everything but were still counting their blessings!
Sister Belnap and I were able to go house to house in order to get work orders for Mormon Helping Hands and ran across an elderly lady named Norma! She is a Spanish lady and had fallen during the flooding and was just sitting in her house with water still in it waiting for someone to find her! It was so sad and she just sat and cried when we found her but we were able to go in and remove everything and get her the help she needed! She had no idea of the LDS faith and was so amazed by what we could do for her!
I have a huge testimony builder of service this week and now realize how important service is to serve those around us whether they are in our faith or not! When we are doing service for others it opens up doors that we are never able to get into, it allows us to share a part of our testimony with others, and lets us share the light of Christ with others! I am so grateful for the opportunities I have to serve all of these amazing people and witness the blessings that come from serving others!
Sorry that this email isn't really missionaryish we didn't have much time for anything this week but I wouldn't have it an other way! Thanks for all the love and support from you all! Ya'll are amazing!! Much love from Louisiana!! :)
I finally made it to Chick-Fil-A
A week of service
