I'm going to tell you all a joke... what's the difference between the MTC and prison?? In prison they allow visitors:) This place is absolutely crazy but i truly have loved it more then i ever thought possible! The food is great and tears of joy were shed last night when Chick-fil-A was delivered, literally. My companion... Holy cow I think we may have been separated at birth. She truly is amazing and we are the most sarcastic and sassiest missionaries the MTC will ever see but somehow we managed to be made sister training leaders so we must be doing something right? My district is amazing. They all have such amazing stories and they have truly become my family away from home. They think my life is so interesting because I live on the farm and are all planning on coming to the Box elder county fair with me:) They are hilarious and I love them all..
I can never quite explain the spirit here. I can honestly say it is one of the closest places to heaven on this earth. I'm going to tell you an experience that I will forever hold close to my heart. So here at the MTC we do a lot of role plays which I suck at miserably because I cannot act to save my life. But we have members and nonmembers come in and we teach them and they are called trc's. I was so nervous about these because you will never know if they are or not. But we got a sweet black girl named Jessica (soul sisters) but she just was so unhappy but had a friend who was LDS and wanted to learn more because she was raised in a gang and just had a terrible family life. Sister Meador and I were freaking out because it was our first time teaching an actual lesson! The spirit completely took over everything that came out of our mouths. With tears shed and a lot of spirit guiding the way Jessica committed to a baptism date.. Say what right?? Like whoever knew I could actually get someone to talk to me let alone want to be baptized. After I picked up mine and Sister Meador's jaw from up off the ground we realized how amazing that feeling is. I may never know if she is a member or not but I can promise you the spirit is the realest thing I have ever felt. I could go the rest of my mission not getting a single person baptized knowing how amazing that feeling is. Everyone was way surprised even our teacher because we are the crazy companionship but we realize how amazing and important it is to relate with these people and simply teach people and not lessons!
I truly love this gospel and i know this is where my Heavenly Father wants me! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They are felt and really do help. I miss you all so much but know I am where i need to be right now:) I leave the MTC Tuesday at 3:30 am... yes 3:30 am.. but will head to LA at about 7:11 I believe? But anyways i love you all and couldn't ever thank you enough for all the love and support!!
